Rob Bonta Launches Investigation into Riverside County Sheriff for Civil Rights and Constitutional Violations
California Attorney General Rob Bonta holds a press conference to announce a new law enforcement oversight effort in Riverside County Sheriff in Southern California. In an effort to promote “constitutional policing” Bonta’s office is launching a “thorough” investigation “to determine whether the Sheriff’s office has engaged in a pattern of practice of unconstitutional or unlawful policing,” and he will “ensure that civil rights of the people of Riverside County are respected.”

Bonta stated, “As part of my offices ongoing efforts to support constitutional policing, we are opening a constitutional investigation into Riverside County Sheriff’s office. Our investigation will seek to determine whether the Sheriff’s office has engaged in a pattern of practice of unconstitutional or unlawful policing. “
